winter wonderland.

despite finals these past two weeks have been great. last week was busy getting ready for my biggest exams that happened at the beginning of this week, but david and i managed to watch at least one christmas movie, elf. on wednesday my friend eileen came into town and stayed with me until friday. we made mac & cheese and just hang around the house between my studying and watching glee together.then she and david played at franklin's wine bar downtown on friday night. that was really exiting! they both did a wonderful job, things sounded so good, and i was impressed.
nowadays, there is gross melted snow on the ground, that once looked beautiful, but now has turned into slush. it snowed on saturday and it's wednesday so i guess there's a reasonable explanation for that. unfortunately instead of playing out in the snow, i was trapped behind drafty windows studying for exams. alrthough i have to say it was fun having a snow day with 7 of my friends. later on saturday night i went to my 4th melrose, it was fun to dress up PLUS david came too. after melrose, rebecca, michael, david and i came back to the house and made hot chocolate and watched home alone 1.
NEXT>> after i am free from this 4 hour shift at the library, i will be studying for my last final all day(anatomy lab)and tonight having a spaghetti dinner with david, making sugar cookies and watching it's a wonderful life (for the 4th time... yay christmas traditions!).

rumor has it...

that if you can make it through this week without getting H1N1 you are in good shape. researchers have been claiming that this week is the peak week for illness... so wash your hands. for me, so far so good, although i am getting a bit of a cold, but i think that is due to stress. i'm excited for tonight because my house is going to the richardson's house for a little fall festival, we're going to carve pumpkins and have a fire-- hope it doesn't rain ALL day! i'm thinking the pumpkin carving will be a treat for me since david and i practiced last weekend by carving a pumpkin to say, "happy birthday!" for rebecca! anyway, more to come.

yikes!

turns out that during the school year i am not as great at blogging as i am during the summer while i have nothing but hanging out and work to do. meanwhile i've been studying, planning for Bible study, attending Bible study, hanging out with friends, visiting home, going on dates with David, and taking a million exams. but God continuously blesses me with energy and joy to do what i need to.
i am so excited for this weekend, on thursday paige is coming to visit, and i haven't seen her since her wedding! we are going dancing the night she arrives, and on friday probably hanging out until katie gets her too! i think on saturday we are going apple picking in charlottesvilee!! :]
while i await the weekend to arrive i am here at work, and busy with meetings and classes and tons of homework. i'm seriously considering going to africa next year, so we'll see what happens there. i'll keep you posted.

it's fall time!

things here at jmu are different... i expect the month of september to be colorful, smelling like leaf piles burning, sharp pencils and soccer cleats (gross) but it's not living up to my expectations. i'm ok with that though. so far the weather has been in the 80s and the sun has been shinning down on me, it's been a good, new way of starting off a school year. i am liking my classes and am having fun with my friends. my birthday was great and the fact that school is in full swing has started to hit me. there are quite a few things i am going to accomplish this fall: make my own soup, go apple picking, make jack-o -lanterns, make pies, go tailgating... maybe even to a football game, go camping, have an apple festival... :]
i just wanted to give a brief update... more to follow.
here is something to dwell on,
friends that inspire me:
1. katie b/c she still blogs
2. hayley for keeping up with them and informing me of everything
3. paige for driving katie to keep blogging (starting this whole cycle)
